Discover the tactile art of textile sculpture in this immersive, two-session workshop! You will learn how to build a dynamic form over a prepared wire support, using the fascinating process of dipping fabric strips into liquid fabric hardener. This technique allows you to transform soft textiles into a rigid, durable masterpiece with incredible texture and flow.
This hands-on experience is split into two focused, three-hour sessions to allow for proper curing. In the first half, you’ll construct your armature; in the final session, you’ll bring your sculpture to life by decorating and painting, giving your creation a unique personality. We provide the wire armature (mounted on a wooden base), the liquid Power Tex, and acrylic paints.
To personalize your piece, participants are asked to bring an old cotton t-shirt to repurpose and a roll of masking tape.…
